“Welcome Home” is a visual diary of sentimental moments and people in my life. The book illustrates how home is not the land we were born or raised in necessarily, but the people that make us feel loved and welcomed. The book features high quality images from Lithuania, where I come from, and my time in LA, the landscapes and people that are home to me. Most of the time, the photographs in the book illustrate creative endeavors, which are an inseparable part of being artistically minded. “Welcome Home” is written in the format of a continuous poem, both in English and Lithuanian, as I feel those two languages create and illustrate my identity best. The book is binded by hand and the cover is made from a fragrant wood panel, formatted in a creative yet consistent manner. It is a celebration of our ability to take photographs and share them, travel, find home outside of where we grew up and connect with people we would never be able to meet without art or technology.
